This month, we celebrate the spirit of Gratitude—a reminder that every breath, every step, and every moment of awareness is an opportunity to return to appreciation. November invites us to slow down, honor what is, and open our hearts to the simple, sacred gifts that surround us each day. Through movement and mindfulness, we remember that gratitude isn’t just something we think—it’s something we feel and embody.
In this issue of the TranscenDance™ Tribune, we spotlight the inspiring story of Facilitator Cynthia Murphy, whose journey reveals the healing power of gratitude in motion. Her story reminds us that when we listen to our bodies and say yes to life’s invitations, transformation unfolds naturally. You’ll also discover ways to embody gratitude and celebrate who you are becoming.

Embodying Gratitude
Spotlighting Facilitator Cynthia Murphy
For Cynthia Watts Murphy, movement wasn’t the first step. It was the answer she found after a long season of healing. In 2015, Cynthia donated a kidney to her brother. After surgery, she woke up with two clear messages in her heart: “You’re not used to loving your body,” and “It’s important to share your gifts and talents.” At home with three young children, she was tired, in pain, and trying to push through everything.
Six months later, an email led her to Mary Morrissey’s DreamBuilder program. Money and time were tight, but staying the same felt worse. She took a chance. Within weeks, her stress eased and within a year, she was off medication. “My life looked the same; same kids, same schedule, same bank account, but everything felt different,” she says. She was grateful for tools that worked and a future that felt open again.
In March 2016, Cynthia flew to California for a training, where she met Jennifer Joy Jiménez in person for the first time. Cynthia noticed her right away,“sharp, loving, confident, and in tune,” but had no idea that Jennifer also taught TranscenDance™. At the time, Cynthia only knew Jennifer in her professional coaching role, unaware of the powerful movement work that would later transform her life.
Over the following years, Cynthia continued to study and grow through the Brave Thinking Institute’s programs. She was slowly reclaiming her voice, her worth, and her creativity. Yet beneath the surface, she sensed there was still something more calling her—something she couldn’t quite name.
That “more” revealed itself in 2024, at BTI’s Breakthrough event, when Cynthia experienced TranscenDance™ in person for the first time. “I stood up after the dance and thought—this is what my soul has been asking for,” she says. Trusting her intuition, she enrolled in both the TranscenDance™ Facilitator Training and the Journey to Vitality Retreat.
As Cynthia immersed herself in Jennifer’s teachings, she began to realize it wasn’t about perfect steps—it was about listening to her body.
Journey to Vitality deepened the transformation she had been longing for. Cynthia experienced what she calls “an unconditional container.” “Jennifer beams pure love,” she says. “She sees through your fears and stories to your core and speaks to it.”During one of the workshops at the retreat, Cynthia shared that she felt “behind.” Jennifer gently invited her to TranscenDance™ to a song she didn’t know.“My human self just kind of disappeared, and this soul self came out,” Cynthia recalls. “I was totally in the moment—surrendered to my body’s response to the energy of the music.” Being witnessed authentically by Jennifer and the other women on retreat, she says, “was one of the most powerful experiences of my life.”
That powerful experience at Journey to Vitality prepared Cynthia for what came next. Soon after the retreat, she attended her first Facilitator Intensive, where the lesson of listening to her body took on new meaning. Cynthia was navigating severe back pain and could barely move, but she was determined to show up for the intensive. She spent most of the training lying down. “Part of me wanted to push through and prove I could do it,” she says. “That’s when I saw my old pattern—forcing instead of loving.” Jennifer met Cynthia with love and care, encouraging her to honor her body. “That simple permission changed everything,” says Cynthia. By the final session, Cynthia was moving again slowly and gently, with respect for what her body needed.
That experience marked a turning point. As her body healed, her trust deepened—not just in the process, but in herself. It was from that renewed place of confidence and gratitude that Cynthia felt ready to take the next step.
Cynthia enrolled in Jennifer’s TranscenDance™ Mastermind and later traveled to Costa Rica for the TranscenDance™ Transformational Retreat, where she became a Level 2 Facilitator. Watching Jennifer in her element taught Cynthia a new kind of trust. “Jennifer listens to Spirit and acts right away; no hesitation, no fear,” she says. “Being around that level of trust changes you. You start to believe you can live that way too. TranscenDance™ doesn’t just teach with words. The movement helps the truth sink into your whole body.”
Today, Cynthia is building her life with a new rhythm: one that supports her wellbeing, incorporates movement as medicine, and fosters gratitude every day. “Each time I say yes, more of me wakes up,” she says. “Jennifer taught me that resistance doesn’t mean stop. It often means something sacred is about to unfold. She saw my gifts before I did,” Cynthia says.
Her guidance for anyone thinking about TranscenDance™ or one of Jennifer’s programs is simple: take the step you can take.
“If you’re even thinking about it,” Cynthia says, “that means there’s an opening. It’s a sign that this is a possibility for you.” She reminds others that they don’t have to have it all figured out. “You don’t have to know how it will all work out,” she says. “Just take the first step. Get yourself in the structure—with mentorship and support—and let the journey reveal itself. Then get ready for a wild ride.”
Cynthia has seen firsthand how Jennifer’s unique approach can create transformation. “Her support is incredibly generous,” she says. “She helps you in ways that are absolutely powerful, magnificent, and amazing.” For anyone feeling the nudge of curiosity, Cynthia’s message is clear: you don’t need to wait until you’re ready. Gratitude in Motion: The Dance Between Learning and Living
What have you learned lately?
When you pick up a new idea, a technique, or a truth that speaks to your soul—what happens next?
Does it stay in your head, tucked away on a shelf of “someday” intentions? Or does it move through you? Shift your breath?
Change the way you stand, speak, stretch, or soften?
Some lessons are meant to be studied. Others are meant to be lived—felt in the body, breathed through the heart, expressed in motion. Because true learning—transformational learning—is never just conceptual.
It’s embodied.
It lands in the bones.
It moves with you.
It becomes part of who you are.
We are not static beings. We are made for movement. For unfolding. For becoming.
And if there’s one practice that gently unlocks that evolution from the inside out, it is this: Gratitude.
But not the kind you recite through gritted teeth while stress coils in your shoulders. Not the “three things before bed” checkbox (though that’s a beautiful place to begin).
This is a more profound, embodied gratitude. A gratitude that lives in the body. A gratitude you can dance.
Gratitude, when embodied, becomes more than a mood.
It becomes a frequency. A rhythm.
A reclamation of your divine aliveness.
So how do we embody this kind of gratitude, especially in the face of fatigue, fear, or the noise of the world?
Here are three practices rooted in the principles of TranscenDance™ designed to shift your mindset and awaken your body’s innate wisdom, where true change lives.
1) Ground Yourself in the Moment
In TranscenDance™, every step begins with grounding. We begin where we are—feet on the earth, breath in the belly, awareness in the body. Because you cannot transform what you are not fully present with.
Gratitude happens when we pause long enough to notice this moment as sacred. Not in the past. Not in the someday. But here, in the now.
Practice:
Close your eyes. Breathe slowly and deeply.
Feel your body being held by the earth beneath you.
Whisper: I am here. I am home.
Let that truth settle in
2)Listen to Your Body
Your body holds every story you’ve ever lived. The joy and the judgment. The celebration and the shame. It remembers all of it and it also knows how to release.
In TranscenDance™, conscious movement becomes the language of the soul, not through choreography, but through intuition and clear intention. Your body already knows how to heal. It simply needs space to move.
Practice:
Put on your favorite song.
Close your eyes. Breathe.
Then… let go. Let your body move to the rhythm the way it wants to. Sway, stretch. Let your hips speak. Let your jaw soften.
This is gratitude becoming motion.
Not for what has happened, but for what is possible.
For what is ready to be released.
For who you are becoming.

You crossed a threshold the moment you said yes — even if you felt resistance, even if your inner critic tried to keep you small.
You still showed up.
Gratitude doesn’t wait for results. It honors the decision to be here. To listen. To move.
Practice:
Before bed, place one hand on your heart and one on your belly.
Ask yourself: What am I proud of today?
Give yourself permission to witness and acknowledge your brilliance with courage—one breath, one step, one sacred movement at a time.
Gratitude is a frequency you can live in. When gratitude moves beyond thought and into your breath, your posture, your hips, your choices… YOU begin to create a new rhythm for your life. One that is rooted in love, in vitality, and in power. So let yourself be danced.
As we move through this season of gratitude, remember: it’s not about doing gratitude perfectly; it’s about feeling it fully. Let it rise in your breath, your spine, your steps. Let it guide you home to yourself, again and again. This month, give yourself the gift of movement, presence, and possibility. Let TranscenDance™ be your sacred space to embody the learning, the letting go, and the becoming. The rhythm is already inside you. All that’s left… is to begin.
