Soul Song
Spotlighting Facilitator Lynn Brinckmeyer
For Lynn Brinckmeyer, music has never just been about melody or rhythm — it’s been the language of her soul. A lifelong educator, conductor, and passionate learner, Lynn’s journey has always been about much more than teaching: it’s been about awakening, healing, and inspiring through the deepest song we each carry inside.
From her earliest days of professional development in her 20s and 30s, Lynn felt an undeniable pull toward deeper personal growth, a path that would eventually lead her to the work of Mary Morrissey and later to TranscenDance™ with Jennifer Joy Jiménez.
“I was mesmerized by Mary Morrissey’s story and the way she spoke,” Lynn recalls. After enrolling in the DreamBuilder Program, she attended DreamBuilder Live. It was there that a significant moment changed everything. “Mary walked on stage and didn’t say a word — and I burst into tears. I knew then I wanted more of this in my life.”
Driven by an intense desire to grow personally and professionally, Lynn made bold commitments to programs and certifications, often without knowing how to make it work financially. “I didn’t know how I was going to pay for it, but I just signed up,” she says, reflecting on her leap of faith into the Brave Thinking Masters program and later into coaching with Jennifer Joy Jiménez.
Through every step, Lynn’s purpose evolved — not only to become a better teacher and mentor but to fully embody the type of leader who fosters true transformation in others. “I wanted to be the teacher that Jennifer and Mary modeled — one who asks questions, listens deeply, and empowers others to find their own answers,” she explains. “That resonated with me on such a deep level”.
Her connection to TranscenDance™ deepened when she encountered Jennifer Joy Jiménez’s work, blending music, movement, and mindfulness. “When I first did something online with Jennifer, it just called to me,” Lynn says. “I used music and movement in my teaching already, but TranscenDance™ brought a whole new level of intentionality and joy to it.”
Her passion for music education has always burned brightly, but Lynn saw that true learning required more than lectures; it needed movement, improvisation, drumming, and full-body engagement. “I have such a passion for making sure the people in my workshops aren’t just sitting there,” Lynn says. “They’re seeing it, hearing it, feeling it — every part of their brain and body receiving it in different ways.”
As a long-time professor at Texas State University, Lynn was known for asking students to think rather than simply follow directions, a teaching style that now intertwines beautifully with her TranscenDance™ work. Whether leading professional development sessions, children’s choir rehearsals, or international delegations, she infuses everything she touches with dynamic energy.
The feedback Lynn receives is a testament to her impact. After a recent workshop at Penn State, students flocked to her, saying, “We’ve never had this much fun in a clinic ever in our lives.” In another moving moment, a teacher thanked her tearfully, admitting, “We’re so burned out. We needed this joy.”
Throughout the challenges of recent years, including caring for her ailing mother and mourning the passing of her grandson, Lynn turned again and again to the tools she was learning. “I realized through this inner work that I had an obligation to take care of myself not just others,” she shares. “That wasn’t even on my radar before.” Through coaching with Jennifer in her Vibrant Healthy Woman program and regular TranscenDance™ sessions she repatterned an overactive inner critic into a loving empowerment coach!
The physical and emotional healing Lynn has experienced on her journey has been profound. After suffering a severe Achilles injury, she found herself not just healing physically but unraveling deep-seated fear and trauma through Jennifer’s retreats, expert coaching, and community support. Reflecting on a pivotal healing experience during the Journey to Vitality Retreat, Lynn shares about her breakthrough in an ancient Mayan healing Temescal ceremony “I had this purging, I was sobbing and sobbing… I was terrified to walk again on my own, after my injury, but after that, it was like it was all over. My whole nervous system regulated. Which was pivotal on my full healing journey.” I am now completely healed and I walk and dance fully in strength and vibrant health.
That courage, born from adversity, fuels her mission to serve others in ever-expanding ways. After decades of empowering students and teachers through music, Lynn now envisions leading local and international retreats, blending music, movement, and transformational coaching. “My intention is to create spaces where people can move, breathe, dance, and truly experience joy and trust,” she says.
In every classroom, clinic, and retreat, Lynn Brinckmeyer lives her message: that passion and purpose are not things to chase someday, they are seeds to nurture right now. Her story is a reminder that embracing our true calling, even through uncertainty and challenge, can lead to a life of deep, meaningful impact.
As Lynn says, “It’s not just about teaching music anymore. It’s about helping people be better humans — including myself.”

Purposefully You
5 Ways to Discover Your Passion and Purpose
We all crave a sense of meaning—a reason to wake up feeling energized, aligned, and fulfilled. Yet with constant distractions and the pressure to “have it all figured out,” discovering your passion and purpose can feel overwhelming. But what if the journey isn’t about looking outside yourself, but gently returning to who you’ve always been?
Here are five soulful strategies to help you tap into your passion and align with your purpose:
- Follow What Sparks Joy and Curiosity
Think less about “What should I do with my life?” and more about “What lights me up, even just a little?” Passion often starts with curiosity. It’s the books you lose time reading, the hobbies you keep returning to, the conversations that make your eyes light up. Pay attention to what energizes you—those little sparks can grow into something powerful when nurtured. Ask yourself: What topics, activities, or causes make me feel alive? - Reflect on Your Past Clues
Your life leaves breadcrumbs. Look back at moments when you felt most fulfilled, proud, or connected. Maybe it was mentoring someone, organizing a community event, or creating something with your hands. Our purpose often hides in plain sight, woven into the stories we’ve already lived. Try this: Journal about three times in your life when you felt “in the zone.” What were you doing? Who were you with? - Embrace Stillness and Silence
Sometimes, we can’t hear our inner voice because life is simply too loud. Carving out moments of stillness—through meditation, nature walks, or simply unplugging—creates space for intuition to rise. Purpose doesn’t always shout. More often, it whispers. Practice: Try 10 minutes of silence each morning. No phone, no music. Just you and your breath. Listen. - Experiment and Explore Without Pressure
You don’t have to find your “one true calling” all at once. In fact, most people discover their passion by trying new things and allowing themselves to evolve. Sign up for that class, volunteer for that cause, start that side project. Treat it like a creative adventure, not a final exam. Mantra: “I trust the process of becoming who I’m meant to be.” - Align With What You Value Most
Purpose often blooms when our actions align with our core values. Ask yourself what truly matters: Is it freedom, creativity, connection, justice, or growth? Once you name your values, you can make choices that reflect them, and that alignment creates a deep sense of purpose and peace. Tool: Create a “Values Vision Board using images and words that represent your core values and how you want to embody them.
Your passion and purpose aren’t things you need to chase—they’re parts of you waiting to be remembered, reclaimed, and reignited. Be gentle with the process. Trust the unfolding. And know that just by asking these questions, you’re already on the path.
Keep seeking. Keep listening. You are here for a reason.
Healthier, Happier You!
3 Tips to Stay Healthy for Women’s Health Month
May is Women’s Health Month—a powerful reminder to put your wellness front and center, not as an afterthought, but as a foundation for everything else you do. Whether you’re juggling work, family, dreams, or all of the above, your health deserves love, attention, and intention.
Here are three simple (but mighty) ways to nourish your body, mind, and spirit this month:
- Check In, Don’t Check OutWhen was your last full-body check-in? Not just doctor’s visits (though those matter too!), but pausing to ask: How am I feeling physically, mentally, and emotionally? Women’s health is holistic. Whether it’s scheduling an overdue wellness appointment or just taking 5 minutes to breathe and scan your body, checking in with yourself is an act of self-respect.Try this: Book one health-related appointment this month—physical, dental, or therapy. Even one step counts.
- Move Like You Love Yourself
Exercise isn’t punishment—it’s a celebration. Instead of obsessing over calories burned, ask yourself what kind of movement brings joy. Dance in your living room. Take a long walk in the sun. Stretch while listening to your favorite playlist. When you move with love, your body feels the difference.Feel-good prompt: What kind of movement makes you feel powerful, free, or playful? Do more of that. - Nourish Beyond the PlateFood matters, yes—but so does rest, connection, and joy. Nourishment isn’t just about what’s on your fork; it’s also how you talk to yourself, who you surround yourself with, and how often you give yourself permission to slow down. Holistic health = whole-self care.Self-care suggestion: This month, prioritize one thing that feeds your spirit—whether it’s journaling, therapy, girl time, or sacred solitude.
Remember: You don’t have to overhaul your entire life to feel better. Small, consistent acts of care can lead to big shifts over time. Your health is not a luxury. It’s your birthright.
You deserve to thrive—mind, body, and soul.
