Growing up, Linda’s dream was to go to college.
But as the oldest of 10 children, she came from a family that never seemed to have enough to go around. And when she graduated from high school, her mother told her that she could only afford to send Linda’s brothers to college. Linda had to find her own way.
Linda’s longing for a college education was so strong, she joined a Catholic convent to do so! She studied hard and received a nursing degree as well as three other advanced degrees. She took a vow of poverty and stayed in the convent for 27 years.
Over time, however, she gradually realized she wanted something else for her life.
At the age of 45, Linda took a leap of faith and left the convent. While she had no money, she did have the spirit of an entrepreneur, and quickly established a successful international nursing continuing education program.
However, her health suffered. After many years of working too much, she burnt out and realized the truth: She was lonely. She longed for a loving partner, and had been avoiding this longing with constant activity and work for years.
That’s when she came across one of Mary Morrissey’s free online workshops.
“I thought to myself, ‘I wonder if I went to one of those workshops, I could figure out this thing called relationships.’”
Within six weeks, she met a man named Rich.
Today, at 72 years old, Linda is in great health, has a successful business, is happily married and is surrounded by plenty of friends.
“Together, we are energized with this work… I’m working on my dreams, he’s working on his dreams and together I think we are going to make a great team.”
